Telekom Slovenije Group Generates €200.8 Million in EBITDA in 2015
|
The Telekom Slovenije Group generated €200.8 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in 2015, which is 1.3% above the target, and 18% more than in 2014. The Telekom Slovenije Group's net profit in 2015 amounted to EUR 68.1 million, which is 3% more than planned. Telekom Slovenije’s subsidiary in the Macedonian market One merged with Vip into a newly established company in 2015, and the charter document also specifies the conditions of Telekom Slovenije’s withdrawal from the company within three years. The total effect of this futures contract and derecognition of One on the net results is €30.4 million.
The Group’s net sales revenue reached €729.5 million in 2015, which is 4% less than in 2014, however the figures from these two years cannot be directly compared, as One’s results were only included in the Group’s fully consolidated results until 31 July 2015. Accordingly, the revenue in Macedonia was €31 million lower in 2015, which affected all of Telekom Slovenije Group’s revenue categories. Telekom Slovenije Group’s results for 2015 furthermore do not include the share in Gibtelecom, which was sold at the end of 2014.
In the fixed segment, the Telekom Slovenije Group compensated for the decline in revenue from traditional voice telephone services in Slovenia, caused by the migration to mobile services and VoIP, with increased revenue from IT services, which doubled in 2015 compared to 2014, amounting to €26.6 million. The Telekom Slovenije Group generated €747.2 million in operating revenue in 2015.
Compared to 2014, Telekom Slovenije Group’s EBITDA margin improved by 22.2 percentage points to 27.5% in 2015.
Telekom Slovenije Group also recorded a growth in its user base compared to 2014. The number of its mobile users increased by 3% in 2015, the number of TV connections by 6%, and the number of fixed broadband connections by 4%. For the purpose of comparison, connections from the Macedonian company One were excluded from the data.
